You work hard and you deserve a drink! Why should you have to travel all the way downtown for an after work cocktail, only to be forced to spend even more money on that drunken cab ride back uptown? No!  You deserve a well-priced, delicious libation within walking distance of your uptown abode.

I personally reside in Central Harlem and work throughout renting apartments. After a long day of showing property I want something more than a forty in a brown paper bag from the corner bodega, but don’t want to break the bank to do it. So I’m going to share with you three of my favorites in cheap wining and dining - happy hour style!

If the main requirement is cheap cheap cheap, try Native, located at 161 LenoxAve @ W118th St.  Native offers happy hour pricing M-F, 3-8pm (at the baronly) including $3 Coors light bottles, $4 well drinks/draft beer & $6 housewines.  If you become a fan on facebook, you get a FREE MOJITO! Whodoesn’t like free booze in exchange for a friendship??

Next, for the classy but oh-so-broke wino in you, try out Lido.Lido, located at 2168 Frederick Douglass Blvd @ W117th St , offers  a ½ price discount on their delicious wines by the glass. A girl could stain her teeth red at these prices! And, if you have tickets from a show at the Apollo, you get a free wine or beer with the purchase of an entrée anytime.

You like a little nosh with all that boozin’? Try the newly opened HFB (Harlem Food Bar), located at 2131 Frederick Douglas Blvd btw W 115th & W 114th.  HFB offers a happy hour special M-F, 5-7pm with ½ off beer, wine AND cocktails with the purchase of an appetizer. And they also have outdoor seating to enjoy the last days of summer!

Happy drinking & saving! I’ve shared three, but there are many more great, local spots in Harlem.  Support the neighborhood you live in…have a drink!
